United Conference of Apostolic Sacramental Bishops
The United Conference of Apostolic Sacramental Bishops is a fellowship of Bishops representing numerous and diverse jurisdictions within the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church.
What is the Apostolic Sacramental Movement?
The Apostolic Sacramental Movement is a group of connected Churches that exist outside of the canonical Churches. The ASM consists of independent Anglican, Catholic, and Orthodox Churches that are not connected to Canterbury, Rome or Constantinople.
Apostolic
This term comes from having valid apostolic succession - meaning there is an unbroken line of bishop starting with the original 12 Apostles through today - these bishops pass their apostolate by laying on hands in the sacrament of Holy Orders.
Sacramental
The word sacramental describes the keeping of the seven sacraments of the traditional Church. Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist, Matrimony, Reconciliation, Holy Orders, and the Anointing of the Sick (Viaticum)
Movement
We are a movement in that we are activists. We push the boundaries of the established Church. Most ASM communities are radically inclusive of the people who have been disenfranchised by the traditional Church.
